Jacob Dye: Keeping His Eye on the Bal

By Nick Stachowiak

As a tennis player at Duke University it is only fitting that I chose to photograph the boy's tennis team. Jacob Dye is the number one tennis player at Riverside High School. He started playing tennis when he was 10 years old and the rest is history. He took to the competitiveness of the sport and enjoys how it brings his family even closer together. Jake has had to deal with numerous injuries throughout his career but he is working hard to come back stronger than ever. He has big goals for this year and with his determination anything is possible.

It was an amazing experience to be able to follow Jake around on a day-to-day basis. You never know what it is like to walk in someone else's shoes, but spending the semester with Jake is as close as I have gotten. His work ethic and tenacity are important characteristics that lead to his success on and off the tennis court. Whether it is school, tennis, or family game night, Jake always gives it his all. I have learned many things from Jake and I look forward to hearing about his future accomplishments.
